Maybe psychologist Kohlberg was right, as many of my capitalist friends believe: most people simply do not reach stage six of the moral development and are not able to think in social contract ways based on ethical principles... And if the majority cannot understand – the majority cannot rule, i.e. hierachical systems such as capitalism are our only choice. ....However, if the majority is simply not informed, or should I say if the majority is educated by only those who believe in hierarchy, then there may be another world possible:

Gemäß Artikel 146 im GG ist eine grundsätzliche Verfassungsänderung nur durch eine gänzlich neue Verfassung zulässig – eine solch gänzlich neue Verfassung kann daher rechtmäßig nur durch eine friedliche Revolution erreicht werden, sowohl parlamentarisch, als auch ausserparlamentarisch. „Eigentum

"I am convinced there is only one way to eliminate these grave evils, namely through the establishment of a socialist economy, accompanied by an educational system which would be oriented toward social goals." ~ Albert Einstein (1879-1955) "Companies that choose to invest these profits in ... alternative energy would not be required to pay into the fund., ..., we need immediate action to help the most vulnerable." ~ Hillary Clinton "We have to choose between a global market driven only by calculations of short-term profit, and one which has a human face." ~ Kofi Annan "This is an impressive crowd: the Have's and Have-more's. Some people call you the elites. I call you my base." ~ George W. Bush "A corporation does not want democracy. It does not want free markets, it wants profits, and the best way for it to get profits is to use our campaign-finance system -- which is just a system of legalized bribery -- to get their stakes, their hooks into a public official and then use that public official to dismantle the marketplace to give them a competitive advantage and then to privatize the commons, to steal the commonwealth, to liquidate public assets for cash, to plunder, to steal from the rest of us." ~ Robert F. Kennedy "It is more profitable for your congressman to support the tobacco industry than your life." ~ Jackie Mason "War against a foreign country only happens when the moneyed classes think they are going to profit from it. " ~ George Orwell "Every man must decide whether he will walk in the light of creative altruism or in the darkness of destructive selfishness. " ~ Martin Luther King, Jr. "The use of solar energy has not been opened up because the oil industry does not own the sun." ~ Ralph Nader "War is never economically beneficial except for those in position to profit from war expenditures." ~ Ron Paul "The press don't like to say nice things because nice is boring. It's much better to label me the devil. We are entertainers, plain and simple, and we're responsible to bring that money back, to make a profit." ~ Michael Bay "Corporation: An ingenious device for obtaining profit without individual responsibility." ~ Ambrose Bierce "As a consequence, progress has come to mean simply more power, more profit, more productivity, more paper prosperity, all of which are convertible into standards concerned only with size or magnitude rather than quality or excellence." ~ Alex Campbell "While mainstream media is led by profit, ratings and popularist culture and filtered by the current political climate, Alternative Media is lead solely by the convictions of the campaign and film maker. " ~ Ben Edwards "Our resistance to this war should be our resistance to profit at the cost of human life. Because that is what these drums beating over Iraq are really about. This is about business." ~ Tim Robbins "In the United States, corporations are very concerned about securing natural resources for them to profit from. " ~ Justin Sane "Not to say that corporations are perfect today, but even grand corporations like Dupont have made immense progress in translating some of their past environmentally damaging practices into new profit opportunities." ~ Maurice Strong "This morning, prompted by increasing concerns about terrorism, oil prices reached a record high as the cost of a barrel of crude is a whopping $44.34. Wow, it seems shocking that a product of finite supply gets more expensive the more we use it. Now the terror alert means higher oil prices, which oddly enough means higher profits for oil companies giving them more money to give to politicians whose policies may favor the oil companies such as raising the terror alert level. As Simba once told us: "It's the circle of life." ~ Jon Stewart "The essence of a successful business is really quite simple. It is your ability to offer a product or service that people will pay for at a price sufficiently above your costs, ideally three or four or five times your cost, thereby giving you a profit that enables you to buy and to offer more products and services." ~ Brian Tracy World Leaders and Washington Insiders Making Billions in the War on Terrorism Gammelfleisch in aller Munde !!!

“for
years I labored with the idea of reforming the existing
institutions of the society, a little change here, a little change
there. Now I feel quite differently. I think you’ve got to
have a reconstruction of the entire society, a revolution of
values.” |
